Welcome

I am a lawyer who has specialised in IT law for some 25 years, and have been involved across the spectrum of IT law in that time – transactional work and contentious dispute resolution, acting both for suppliers and users, and for and against Government. The Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession described me as “good news” on the most complex of matters and I like to think I bring a broad-based range of experience to everything I do.

I was until recently a Trustee of the Society for Computers & Law for some 7 years and for the last two of those years served as its Chairman. In June 2007, I was elected as one of the first Fellows of the Society for Computers & Law in recognition of his services to the Society and its aims. I am also currently Chairman of Intellect’s Legal Affairs Group (Intellect is the trade body for IT suppliers). I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and also a registered CEDR mediator.

I can work alone or bring in extra resource where it is required – I can choose from among people with ex-City backgrounds like myself. You can think of it as a virtual law firm! I myself can provide hands-on experience on transactional work, or call in other lawyers to help on larger transactions, or call in lawyers from different disciplines (corporate, employment, property) to help with the many different aspects of IT transactions to-day.

In 2004, I left the City, where I was a partner in a City law firm, to set up my own law firm – doing some of the same things and also some new things. I principally work in the following areas. You can find out more what I do by clicking here
